Why does a nutrient show a dash?
A dash (—) means the figure isn’t known, not that it’s zero. Many foods don’t say how much sugar, fibre or salt they contain, so Surplus leaves those figures out rather than guess.
On the Nutrients card, a note like “From 3 of 5 items” tells you how many of the day’s foods gave a figure. The total only counts the foods that did.
