Which nutrients does Surplus track?

For every food: calories and protein, plus carbohydrates and fat when the food gives them.

When a food’s label gives them, Surplus also records:

  • Sugar
  • Fibre
  • Saturated fat
  • Sodium, shown as salt in the UK and Ireland, as labels there show it. Salt is worked out from sodium (salt = sodium × 2.5).
  • Potassium

These five come from foods you scan or pick from the food database, Surplus’s own library included. Your recipes and foods you add by hand don’t carry them.

To see them, tap the Calories card on Today and look under Nutrients, or open any food on the log page and tap More nutrition facts.
