What does "Purchase is pending approval" mean?

Apple is waiting for the purchase to be approved before it goes through. This usually happens with Ask to Buy, when a family organiser approves purchases, or when your bank asks you to confirm a payment.

You haven’t been charged yet. Once it’s approved, Premium unlocks: reopen Surplus, or tap Restore purchases in Profile › My Premium.
